Crusher pulley shaft in a cement plant: the arithmetic is right, but the sheet stops before the bearing loads and life

A 300 kW belt-driven crusher shaft on two 23032 spherical roller bearings. Every formula checks out, yet no bearing load, life or shock factor is stated. With a realistic shock factor the life falls from about 370,000 h to about 13,000 h.

What the case covers

Takeaway. The arithmetic is sound and the arrangement is safe for a smooth drive. A crusher is not, so add the shock factor and state the loads and life that the sheet leaves out.
